Top red carpet nail looks

Manila Luzon @manilaluzon

In amongst all the mostly pale pink, nude or white nails at two recent awards events were a standout set from drag queen, Manila Luzon, whose nails were a smorgasbord of colour.

Luzon dazzled at the CMT (Country Music Television) County Music Awards in Austin, Texas. Her gown, full of swirls and ruffles in all manner of vivid shades, was inspired by the Filipino spirit bird of good fortune and prosperity. Luzon’s nails totally helped to serve up the look – every long, stiletto talon was a different colour, with blobs of contrasting hues on each.

Hannah Ellis @hannahgreyellis

A subtle splash of colour at the event was found on singer/ songwriter Hannah Ellis, whose nails were all about matching her pretty, powder blue dress. And, like the outfit, Ellis’ nails were fairly short.

Rapper Megan Thee Stallion, a somewhat surprising addition to an event honouring country music, had a nail design that totally complemented her cobalt blue gown, which featured white accents. Her long square nails were painted white on top, with cobalt blue on the underside of each nail.

MacKenzie Porter @mackenziepmusic

MacKenzie Porter opted for short pale pink nails to contrast with her hot pink mini suit.

Perhaps the most underwhelming nail set of the night was seen on country legend, LeeAnn Rimes, whose nails looked short and completely bare. No matter as her sequinned gown sparkled.

Gabrielle Union @gabunion

One celeb whose nails attracted notice at the GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles where those of Gabrielle Union. The actress rocked ‘milk bath nails’, as in clear nails with flower details on them.

Gigi Gorgeous @gigigorgeous

Gigi Gorgeous Getty rocked plain but very long French nails.

Lisa Ann Walter @lisaannwalter

The odd set of black nails were spotted on the GLAAD red carpet, most notably on actress Lisa Ann Walter, who chose to wear a dominatrix-style outfit, and on stand-up comic, Margaret Cho.

Sarah Michelle Gellar @sarahmgellar

Flying the flag for short white nails was ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ actress, Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Actress and former Miss America, Vanessa Williams’ short nails were inexplicably painted red, which jarred somewhat with her frothy, hot pink frock.
