SOUTH AFRICA FASHION WEEK: Walk Your Worth
Cosmetics giant L’Oréal recently took centre stage at the Mall of Africa for the Walk Your Worth runway event, presenting a spectacular tribute to inclusivity and empowerment. From April 18th to 20th, 2024, fashion enthusiasts from around the globe gathered at SA Fashion Week in Johannesburg to witness the Luxury Collections of Designers, marking the event’s 27th year.
SA Fashion Week has long been a beacon of creativity and innovation in the fashion industry, and this year’s event was no exception. Partnering with L’Oréal, Mall of Africa served as the Official Home of the South African Fashion Week, with Mr. Price as the Official Retail Partner, Cruz Vodka as the Official Alcohol Partner, Isuzu as the Official Motor Vehicle Partner, and Carlton Hair setting the trends in South African hairstyling.
The runway was graced by a diverse array of talent, including appearances by Miss SA 2023 Natasha Joubert, actress Jessica Nkosi, influencers Siya Bunny and Kevi Kev, as well as renowned musicians Thembi Seete and Yvonne Chakachaka. The event reached its crescendo with the stunning presence of award-winning television presenter and media personality Bonang Matheba, who closed the show in a custom creation by Biji La Maison.
At the heart of this celebration of fashion and beauty was L’Oréal, the Official Beauty Partner of SA Fashion Week. Ayanda Mackay, L’Oréal marketing manager, highlighted the brand’s commitment to inclusivity and empowerment through its partnership with South African Fashion Week. Mackay emphasised how the Walk Your Worth fashion show perfectly aligned with L’Oréal’s objectives, showcasing the brand’s dedication to diversity and self-expression.
As SA Fashion Week drew to a close, anticipation built for the next chapter of this iconic event. With L’Oréal at the forefront of beauty and empowerment, the future looks bright for South African fashion, promising even more groundbreaking collaborations and celebrations of diversity on the runway.
