Professional Beaut y hosted a successful Johannesburg Expo in 2023 with another coming up this September.

Some 6,477 industry professionals descended on Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand on 3 & 4 September 2023 to attend Professional Beauty Johannesburg.

In addition to dozens of exhibition stands showcasing the latest in beauty, nails, spa and aesthetics, the expo encompassed a wide range of events including the Business Seminars, Advanced Skincare Stage and the World Spa & Wellness Convention, as well as nail and make-up competitions and a ‘Treat the Visitor’ zone, where therapists performed neck and hand massages.

An exhibitor, Amanda Harrod of Saloncare, said: “I knocked the ball out of the park with sales at this year’s show. Additionally, I appointed two new distributors from African countries, namely Botswana and Uganda. This was achieved through Professional Beauty’s International Buyers’ Forum. I literally have four clipboards of leads from the show. This show is always so good for us. I also sponsored the ‘Treat the Visitor’ zone, which actually drove people to our stand. All in all, we achieved a 100% success rate.”

Jacqui Faucitt of RégimA and her team received many good leads at the show. She said: “This includes new stockists, as well as people from Mozambique, Uganda and Rwanda. There were 10 of us on the stand and we were all busy. Our show specials really worked as they prompted people to come to the stand.”

The pHformula stand was very busy, noted Carina Meiring. “We had lots of visitors and several quality leads to pursue.”

Kerri Lichter of Guinot reported great interest in the new Hydradermie device. “It’s been a good show, and we have several new potential leads.”

The Ingrid Millet skincare brand made its first appearance in South Africa at the Professional Beauty Johannesburg Expo. Said distributor Mohammed Vally. “We’ve managed to fill a good couple of pages with leads to follow up.”

Sue, Pieter and Clarissa Vermeer of RefectoCil enjoyed constant attention at their stand. “There has been a lot of interest in the Intense Browns product in particular,” they said.

Medi Aesthetic Solutions’ Samantha Lockhart said: “The show was great, a bit smaller than pre-Covid, but we had some good interactions with potential clients/stockists. All-in-all, another successful Professional Beauty Expo!”

Lisa Charlton of Matis launched the Purité Pro treatment with preand pro-biotics. “We received a lot of interest from our current stockists at the show. The new Matis Skin Alayzer also generated interest. It was great to sell products off our stand.”

The Vitaderm team found the calibre of visitors to the show to be good. “They were keen to find a skincare brand that is more affordable and hits the target market. This was a good show.”

Don’t forget to join us this year for another Professional Beauty expo on 1 and 2 September 2024.
