MARSHALLS TRADITIONAL HEALTHCARE

Marshalls Traditional Healthcare has been manufacturing traditional medicines since the 1930’s and is the sole manufacturer and distributor of the Marshall’s 77 range of products as well as Lays health and beauty products. There are currently over 50 different products manufactured by Marshalls Traditional Healthcare.

In October 2004, a quality beauty range was launched with the flagship product, Lays tissue oil. Other beauty products include Lays lotions, Hair oil, Pain Oil, massage oils, essentials oils and carrier oils.

Apart from manufacturing and sales, the Marshalls team also participates in local and international trade shows where we have an opportunity to showcase our beauty products. We have been to London, Nigeria, New York, South Korea, India

Here is a personal message from our Founder and Responsible Pharmacist:

“My name is Reema Maharaj and I am the owner and Responsible Pharmacist of Marshalls Traditional Healthcare. Today I’ll be telling you who we are and why we exist.

I acquired Marshalls when it was a struggling business in 2004, against the advice of financial experts.

Why? Because I saw the potential of transforming this business into a fully-fledged pharmaceutical company. This was a mammoth task, but I was no stranger to hard work, commitment, perseverance and I’ve been an entrepreneur since the tender age of 9. Coming from very humble beginnings, my dad sold fruit & vegetables in the Verulam market in KZN. After school on Friday afternoons and Saturdays he hired out a small space where he gave me the opportunity to run my own little business.

The hands-on business experience I gained with this little venture ignited the desire to run my own business. So, when I acquired Marshalls I immediately saw my future! To build a South African Pharmaceutical company where African traditional medicines could be manufactured in the most compliant way possible i.e. in a certified pharmaceutical facility. So, after 19 years of dedication, sacrifice and hard work, we are now in a space where we are ready to shout to the world Who We Are and What we have to offer!

We are a SAHPRA licensed, cGMP approved facility , with ISO 90012015 Certification from the SABS . Our facility is also registered with the FDA in USA. We are currently exporting to SADC countries in Africa, the USA, Singapore with more countries on the horizon.

We believe that “all South Africans have the right to have access to quality, safe, effective and affordable healthcare.”
