Brushing Up

When it comes to nail enhancements, there are various different brushes that serve specific purposes, either for acrylic or gel application, or nail art. These brushes are designed to help nail technicians create beautiful and precise nail enhancements and intricate designs. They come in different shapes, sizes and bristle types to offer versatility and precision

According to the experts at Lime Light Hair & Beauty, which offers a wide variety of nail brushes, one of the most popular brushes in the market is the Kolinsky Sable Brush. Made from the hair of the Siberian weasel, these brushes are known for their exceptional quality and their ability to hold and distribute acrylic or gel products with precise application.

Synthetic Brushes are typically made from nylon or taklon fibres. These brushes are more affordable, suitable for both acrylic and gel application, and easier to clean than natural hair brushes.

Detailing Brushes are perfect for creating intricate designs and small details on the nails due to their very thin and fine bristles. They are commonly used for freehand painting, creating fine lines, dots or intricate patterns.

Striper Brushes are primarily used for creating long straight lines or stripes on the nails. They have long, thin bristles that come to a fine point and are great for French manicures, geometric designs, or any design that requires clean, precise lines.

Fan Brushes have thin, spread-out bristles that are shaped like a fan. They are used to create feathering or gradient effects on the nails.

Angular Brushes can be used for a variety of purposes. They have slanted bristles that form a sharp angle, which allows nail techs to create sharp lines, contours and precise edges. Angular brushes are particularly useful for creating geometric patterns or angled strokes.

Fan Detailer Brushes combine the features of fan brushes and detailing brushes. They have a fan-shaped bristle arrangement, but the bristles are shorter and denser than regular fan brushes. They are used for creating precise, delicate designs with a feathery or wispy effect.

“Remember that it’s essential to take proper care of your nail brushes to maintain their performance and longevity. Clean them thoroughly after each use, reshape the bristles when necessary, and store them properly to prevent damage or deformation,” advise the experts at Lime Light Hair & Beauty.

Bio Sculpture

The Upper Arch Brush has a long bristle with a thin brush tip used to build an upper arch and create fine detail nail art.

Bio Sculpture’s No 6 Round Brush is a rounded edge bristle brush used to apply BIOGEL and create nail art designs.

Calgel

The Calgel Art Liner Brush is a nail art brush with ultra-thin bristles. It is designed to create fine, detailed nail art.

Calgel’s Shinajirushi Nail Art Brush is a unique Japanese brush designed to be used with acrylic ink and paint to create detailed drawing nail art designs.
