Successful launch of first Aesthetic Medicine Convention in SA
Despite the extreme cold weather, it was a wonderful surprise to see so many aesthetics delegates flock to South Africa’s first Medical aesthetic Convention at Gallaher Estate on the 7th and 8th of June.
The convention’s impressive programme, featuring talks and educational workshops presented by top experts, attracted an audience eager to learn and expand their skills and knowledge. Lecture rooms were dedicated to addressing topical issues relevant to medical doctors, as well as providing tailored content for aesthetic somatologists and nurses, ensuring a comprehensive experience for all attendees.
The exhibition section was a hub of innovation, showcasing the latest products and technologies. This platform facilitated valuable connections, network opportunities and knowledge sharing among exhibitors and visitors. Exhibitors were impressed by the quality of attendee – medical professionals commited to advancing their businesses with the latest techniques, products, and equipment.
“We are delighted to have received such a wonderful turnout for our first event in South Africa,” says Managing Director, Yolanda Knott. “Backed by our international company’s track record of successfully running Aesthetic Medicine events abroad, we saw the value of launching an event like this in SA. The positive feedback we’ve received reinforces our belief in the potential of this market, and we are pleased to announce that this is the first of many conventions to come.”
This is what some of the visitors and exhibitors had to say:
“I want to give a big shout-out to all the organisers for putting together an amazing conference. The talks and speakers on the Advanced Aesthetic Therapist side were truly some of the best I have ever experienced. It was an honour to be part of this event, and I hope that the conference will continue to grow.

“Thank you for inviting me to speak at the Aesthetic Medicine Convention. I presented on two topics – Periorbital Rejuvenation and Tightening and Firming Treatments that are safe around the periocular area. Both talks were highly interactive with many attendees asking numerous questions. The focus was primarily on patient-centred concerns, such as selecting the appropriate treatment modality and safe injection techniques, rather than on specific product.”

“Attending the Aesthetic Medicine Convention has been an eye-opening experience, far exceeding our expectations. I was bowled over by the speakers and the different exhibitors – it was new, exciting and thoroughly enjoyable to see everyone’s enthusiasm about the latest trends in aesthetics and medical practices. The people made the biggest difference, from the knowledgeable speakers to the attendees visiting the stands. It was interesting to hear their perspective on the convention, and I enjoyed connecting with other exhibitors and learning about their offerings.
This was our first time being involved in an event like this and though we were nervous, I’m very glad we participated as a gold sponsor. The investment was worthwhile and significantly benefited us, taking us to the next level. “

“It is such a pleasure to be here listening to such eye-opening content and empowering us with valuable knowledge. This event has shown us that there is so much more we can do to diversify our treatments within the industry. This knowledge gives us a greater understanding of correct practice and techniques, which allows us to provide the best care possible, which is a significant challenge in our field.
I particularly enjoyed learning about retinol, the modification of machines, and how to combine treatments to meet client’s needs.”
