What is the academy’s reputation and does it have credibility in the beauty and wellness industry?
• A reputation speaks for itself. When a salon owner is looking at employing a student, she looks at the credibility or reputation of the training academy within the industry.
• Are the educators’ experts in their field with hands-on experience?
• Are the educators keeping themselves up to date with modern technology and new techniques. We all, regardless of who are in our field, never stop learning!
Does the academy have a professional salon set up?
It is important that students understand what is required from them in a salon environment. This includes client consultation, hygiene and sanitation, deportment, business management and canvassing for business or marketing.
Is there time to practise?
Without the ability to practise under the supervision of an educator it is difficult for a student to fully understand what is required of them. At NSI students are given the opportunity to practise under supervision and guidance.
What back-up support is provided?
• Does the academy offer back-up support, such as troubleshooting, after training is complete and assist in placing a student in employment?
• Does it offer upskilling to update technicians on technology and techniques?
