Chantelle Smith wins the NailFile Tip Box competition

1st Place – Chantelle Smith
2nd Place – Corma Burger
3rd Place – Rotisca Lucas

The annual Professional Beauty Nail Competition included an off-site Showcase Tip Box Competition that was themed ‘Steam Punk’.

Chantelle Smith took first place with her extraordinarily detailed and superbly crafted entry. Corma Burger placed second, with Rotisca Lucas in third spot.

Says competition director Katia Da Silva: “The Tip Box entries blew me away and it shows that everyone is comfortable working from home, in their own surroundings. The standards have increased, the technical and creative ability from each entry was outstanding.”.

Commenting on her winning set, Chantelle Smith reveals that it took her nearly six weeks and over 170 hours to create the final showcase. “My inspiration all started with a hot air balloon and a steam train. I decided that this was going to be the first and last part of my set and therefore I created a vertical design with the hot air balloons at the top and the train at the bottom. Then I decided to add everything steam punk in between! I researched the theme and ultimately, it felt like a post-apocalyptic era, stuck in an old Victorian setting inspired by the Industrial Revolution.”
