Scream – it’s Halloween!!!

This scary, blood chilling and spine-tingling look was created by Marianka Van Niekerk

Step 1

First off, start with your outlines of the design – you can either do them in black liner or light grey.

Step 2

Then, start filling in your darkest colour, which will be the black. Clean up any excess colour that bleeds onto the white so that you won’t be left with shadows.

Step 3

Fill your shadows in the black gel and then cure.

Step 4

Using a white that is different to your backdrop, start filling in the face.

Step 5

Use a thin brush to re-line the black features inside the mask.

Step 6

You can fill your backdrop in another colour or you can leave it in black.

Step 7

For more effect, fill the face in a glow powder/ pigment or a glow gel.

Marianka Van Niekerk describes herself as an ‘all sparkle and unicorn’ kind of nail artist. A proud ambassador for Zsa Zsa Nails, Van Niekerk regards nails as a passion and is consumed by them. It has been over nine years since she opened Elysian Nails, her home-based salon in Richards Bay.
