MICRONEEDLING unlocks the secrets of radiant skin
Microneedling has surged in popularity over the past decade, becoming one of the top aesthetic treatments. This minimally invasive procedure addresses various skin concerns, including hyperpigmentation, fine lines, wrinkles and visible pores.
Microneedling is the process of using small, sterile needles on a roller or stamping device to create micro-injuries in the skin. These trigger the skin’s natural healing process, boosting collagen production, which helps with skin laxity and gives a plumper complexion. It can also reduce scarring, pigmentation, and the appearance of large pores. You can apply the treatment to the neck, décolleté, upper arms, thighs, buttocks, and stomach.
Microneedling enhances the skin’s absorption of skincare products by creating micro-channels, allowing active ingredients to penetrate more deeply for better results.

Who is suitable for microneedling?
Microneedling is less abrasive than lasers and chemical peels, with minimal downtime—usually just 24–48 hours of redness. The treatment lasts 30–60 minutes, depending on the area, with results visible from four to six weeks. It’s also cost-effective and consistently delivers impressive outcomes.
Although microneedling is relatively safe, there are contraindications. Patients with active skin conditions such as acne and acute chronic skin disease should wait until it’s settled; pregnant women and those breastfeeding should avoid microneedling altogether; clients with previous keloid scarring, patients on anti-coagulants, and those currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy would be contraindicated.
Microneedling pairs well with other technologies like radiofrequency (RF), which tightens the skin using heat, and LED therapy, which stimulates collagen production. Combining it with chemical peels or electroporation can further enhance results, improving product absorption and treating issues like acne, pigmentation, and skin rejuvenation.

Microneedling vs. Mesotherapy
While both treatments use needles, mesotherapy involves injecting vitamins into the skin’s deeper layers, requiring advanced training and specialised insurance. Microneedling, in contrast, uses multiple tiny needles to gently puncture the skin, stimulating collagen and elastin production.
Microneedling has become a trusted, non-surgical option for many therapists and practitioners due to its impressive, lasting results.
