Good morning Sunshine!

The spring and summer months will see clients scrambling to achieve a golden glow on their bodies, either through sunbathing or the use of self-tanners. Either way, they will require the best professional products to protect their skin

Thalgo

Being born from the Ocean, Thalgo la Beaute Marine takes inspiration from Thalassotherapy (treatment using seawater), and Algotherapy (treatment using algae). The Sun Range is the perfect example of how powerful algae can really be.

Sun’ytol Future® is a Patented Microalgae combination – made with an extract of red microalga Polysiphonia lanosa + Astaxanthin – for the ultimate anti-ageing protection. It contains a natural marine filter that protects against sun damage and also preserves the skin cells from high radiation, proving to be a potent antioxidant.

With a vast range for Face – SPF 50, 30 and 15, and Body – SPF 15 and 30, Thalgo offers a wide variety of protection. The formulation of the SPF Creams has a non-whitening, nongreasy finish, to suit all skin types and conditions. All SPF creams come with a luxurious fragrance with notes of naturally extracted coconut and vanilla.

Thalgo also has a Preparation product and an After Sun Product. The Bronzing Activator Lotion, with Inositol, intensifies a natural tan. Added extracts of Red Algae and Aloe Vera replenish the skin and prevent dehydration.

The Sun Repair Cream Mask – for Face, and Hydra Soothing Lotion – For Body – with added aloe vera, water lily flower extract, and allantoin – prevents dehydration and soothes the skin.

Finally, the Body Hydra Soothing Lotion contains iridescent pearls, to enhance a beautiful and safely achieved tan.

pHformula

The S.U.N. powder SPF30 from pHformula is the brand’s first powdered sunscreen to embrace the sun’s radiance with elegance and simplicity.

S.U.N. powder SPF30’s unique formulation helps to protect the skin while boosting your natural beauty, all day, every day.

The innovative applicator allows you to rapidly and easily apply the product to your skin with a soft, silky, and comfortable brush, even on top of make-up. S.U.N. powder SPF30 boasts high UVB/UVA protection SPF30 with 100% mineral filters. It is formulated with natural origin ingredients and is transparent in fair phototype skins, while translucid in darker phototype skins. The ingredients visually help reduce wrinkles and provide anti-pollution and anti-free radical protection. Because the product mattifies, it allows the skin to breathe and the universal tone complements all skin phototypes, while providing colourless, natural coverage on nude or made-up skin.

RégimA

If one unfortunately gets a sunburn then a definite ‘go-to’ product would be RégimA Laser Azu-Repair, specially designed for the treatment of burns and used very successfully on sunburn, helping prevent the damage that excess peeling from any type of burn does to the skin.

As for its sunscreens, RégimA chooses newer technology ingredients, such as Uvinul A Plus, which shows 95% less free radicals in comparison with other UV filters. It guards against UVA and UVB for the most effective long-term skin protection against erythema (redness) from sunburn.

Says RégimA’s Jacqui Faucitt: “Uvinul A Plus outperforms competitive UV filters, protecting the skin’s natural defence systems better and for longer. We also use Uvinul T150, which shows a good affinity with keratin in the skin, providing some water resistant properties. It has exceptionally high absorptivity of UVB radiation, the result of which is that only small concentrations are needed to achieve a high SPF value.”

Tinosorb S is, according to Faucitt, the most efficient oil soluble broad-spectrum UV filter, providing lasting protection due to its excellent photostability. “It produces the highest contributions to SPF and UVA protection factors at low concentration and acts as an SPF booster for UVB filters.”

That’so

Italian brand That’so specialises in producing hydrating self-tanners and sun care products.

That’so self-tanners are renowned for their ability to provide a glowing complexion without leaving any stains. What sets this brand apart is its quick-drying formula and the ability to deliver fast results. These products are easy to apply, making them a popular choice among beauty enthusiasts.

That’so provides a complete range of sun care products to protect the skin during sun exposure, to regenerate it and to intensify the tan.

Says the That’so team: “Our spray cans do not contain gas but a vacuum packed bag that allows the product to exit naturally thanks to compressed air. We do not use Oxybenzon, the ingredient that harms the ocean’s delicate ecosystem.

“Our products are vegan, nickel tested and parabenand Erythrulose-free. Because they are free of allergens, they are suited to sensitive skin. The products are formulated with natural ingredients – molecules and active ingredients are extracted from plants, fruits and natural essences.”

That’so is distributed by HairCair Distributors.

SUNSKIN

South African sunscreen company SUNSKIN believes in the holistic approach to protect and care for the skin and body from the harmful rays of the sun.

The concentration of the ingredients in the SUNSKIN ranges are formulated with highly effective and photostable filters to take delicate and sensitive skins into account. Suncreens are water resistant and cruelty free.

Damaging effects of the free radicals are countered by SUNSKIN’s added antioxidants vitamins C & E, as well as Ubiquinone Coenzyme Q10.

The Rolls Royce of the SUNSKIN sunscreens is the UV-DERM SPF50 range with full spectrum protection against UVA, UVB, HEV (High Energy Visible Light) & IR-A (InfraRed-A). It contains a breathable Anti-Pollution shield.

With eight shades to choose from, the very popular Tinted sunscreen contains Iron Oxide that benefits melasma and acne prone skin.

The SPF 30 & 50 ORIGINAL provides broad spectrum protection (UVA&UVB) for body and face in the SUNSKIN signature ‘mother & child’ bottle packaging.

SIX

From SIX, the Broad Spectrum Anti Ageing Fluid SPF50+ with UVA and UVB protection is an environmentally friendly SPF with a luxury, light non sticky feel.

SIX has used a variety of highly active ingredients in the pool of submicroemulsion, meaning the SPF maximises the yield of sun filters by decreasing their concentration in order to obtain the same SPF value. Less sun filters mean less of an environmental impact and greater efficiency of the formulation.

Ladies will truly appreciate this formulation as it protects the skin against sun damage whilst boosting collagen within the skin. Teens and gents will love the light fluid texture.

Sans Soucis

The San Soucis Sun Protection Serum LSF/SPF 50 is formulated with Multi-Protection Complex, a UV Filter System which guards the skin from UVA and UVB radiation. It consists of a perfect combination of four different chemical sun protection filters. This filter system is not only skin-friendly but can also be called ‘reef-safe’.

Aloe vera has a smoothing and calming effect on skin. It lends the skin moisture while cooling it simultaneously.

Ectoine is formed by microorganisms to easily survive in stress situations such as high temperatures, dryness and UV radiation. This is a high-tech biocell protection ingredient that stabilizes the skin cells‘ own protective mechanisms, increasing the NMF (Natural Moisturising Factor) in the long term. In addition, ectoine protects the skin from oxidative stress which can be caused by Blue Light, among others.

Beauté Pacifique

Stay Natural Sun Spray from Beauté Pacifique is an innovative and unique sun spray oil for face and body that protects you from the sun’s damaging rays and functions as a natural self-tanner when the skin is exposed to sunlight.

It has a modern SPF 20 UV system that protects against both UVA and UVB rays and even activates the skins’ own sun protection mechanism.

Anesi Beauté

The Anesi Lab Luminosity SPF 50 + Protective Cream protects against damaging UV rays. It is essential to preventing further formation of hyperpigmentation or skin photo ageing.

Key ingredients include Hydrogel, a lightweight hydrator for a non-tacky application. This product ensures full coverage of UV protection.

Monteil Paris

From Monteil, the Photoage Protection Fluid is for all skin types, especially for strongly overpigmented skin. It is very suited to sensitive skin, acne and neurodermatitis.

Active ingredients include vitamin E, panthenol and shea butter.

Benefits include: light and sun protection; anti-pollution protection; chemical and physical filter; light texture; does not leave a skin film; suitable for all apparatus treatments; suitable for impure and sensitive skin; and can be combined with regular cosmetics.
